Im looking at making a disconnect in the Kardanwelle. its a mechanical disconnect which can be selected from the driverseat. Is there anyone with experience with a system like this. Regards
Hello Jacob, There was offered a conversion kit for the munga in its active time. It contained two short shafts and a housing for the disconnect, which was welded to the frame. But I think its very dangerous to disconnect the rear wheels. The Brakes of the front and the rear wheels are the same,so the car could skid because the rear wheels can block while breaking hardly. Best Regards Bernhard
My dad drove for years without the driveshaft connected to safe wear and tear, he never had problems with braking. Saying this he never used the car in heavy rain or snow, as im only going to use the car for fun rides i don't worry too much about the brakes. I would like to have the 4 wheel drive though when driving in the woods, im now looking if its possible to use a existing non munga system on my car( requiring only a driveshaft change)
