hello, I am an Iltis owner in GB. my Iltis came from the ranges used by the Bundeswher in wales at castle martin. The body needs replceing, and I have found a dealer in Belgium who has bodies which are repairable. But he will not see one unless someone selects one from the pile. As my health is not good, i can't travel to belgium to select one myself. Is anyone on this forum about to help please?

Is your Iltis a VW or a Bombardier ??

To my knowledge, there is only " wells " for Bombardier .

VW " tubs " are very rare .

Thank you for your help so far. The dealer is in Liege, and once a body is selected I can arrange transport to GB.
The exisiting body is just too far gone to be worth repairing, as it was used on a beach by a former owner and go covered in salt water!
I am happy to pay out of pocket expennses to anyone who can help.

I am unable to travel very far, as I am not fit enough due to a series of mini strokes (brain bleeds).

If the Iltis has been running in salt water , I'd at eden case after the frame look .
This is probably also then rots .

I did not explain very well. The Iltis was used by a guy who surfed a lot. He put wet suits and surfboards into the body, which caused the body to become very poor.
The chassis and engine etc are in good condition, only the brakes pipes and petrol pipes needed replaceing.
He snapped the bolts in the drivers side rear diff, and that is when I bought it.
It had been painted the very brightest of yellow!
I will try and post some photos.

PS As you will see, the body of the Iltis is more rust and air then metal!

I want you not demotivate , but the pictures after that you sent me , a reconstruction of the vehicle is not worthwhile.
Presumably, the frame is also rusted .

Please send me pictures of the dashboard and the wheel and locking levers in the front footwell .
